Comments: Cain in the Desert is a part of a series that Rick Amor completed in the early eighties & is the first manifestation of the “The Running Man”or “The Runner” which has become the most recognisable image of all of Rick’s works .
Rick Amor being interviewed by Josephine Rowe 2012 Melbourne : I mean I’m a life-long atheist, I hate all religions, I just loathe them. I think they’re a blight on mankind, That didn’t work either, but it gave me the running man, I was doing a picture of Cain fleeing in the desert, fleeing the eye of God, and that ended up being the running figure. So that was something that actually came out of it.
